Getting to Know Me

I have been playing sports for, literally, as long as I can remember!  As a quiet child, my parents encouraged me to be a part of a team to help me find comfort in a group setting.  Since then, I have been hooked.  I played softball, as a pitcher, competitively, until a year ago and continue to play field hockey, now as an FDU Devil.  I only picked up field hockey as a high school freshman, but love the pace of the game and can’t wait to see what’s in store for my college years. I am definitely passionate about sports, but I also love fashion. I took fashion classes throughout high and learned quite a bit about the fashion industry. Recently, I've been obsessed with making customized college apparel and have even developed a small business by selling my designs.  In the future, I hope to peruse a job in the fashion industry because it is truly something I have a passion for.
I don’t really have a nickname, but I guess there are a few friends that call me, “sassy O”.  As a formerly quiet person, the past couple of years I have come out of my shell and people that know me have gotten to see my sarcastic side.  Taylor Swift is my favorite artist because she is such a great singer and person, but also her songs are so relatable. I was fortunate enough to get pit seats to one of her concerts and that is something that I will never forget. When I'm not busy with sports/school etc., like most girls of my generation, I can be found looking at social media. I like seeing what's going on with family and friends and viewing the newest trends, through posts and pictures. Instagram is my favorite App.
Unless I am writing about something personal, I typically make an outline to organize my thoughts.  I have taken many classes that require writing, but unfortunately, I have not conquered it. In high school, the writing process was to make an outline, rough draft, revised rough draft and a final copy. I liked this process because I believe it helped make my essay as strong as it could be and helped organize my thoughts. When I am writing about my interests and personal experiences, I can just sit at the computer and start writing. I would probably rate myself as a B writer because there is still a lot of room for me to grow, creatively, grammatically and strategically. This semester I hope to improve my writing and make my thoughts to paper more fluent and concise.
